Brittany n Bros
          
  Lindsay may be the home of this unique fashion boutique for women, but its shoes, designer fashions and accessories are sourced from around the world. It is located in a charming, restored historical building with original hardwood floors, brick walls and a tin ceiling. We were impressed with the friendly, knowledgeable staff ready to assist in coordinating an entire wardrobe.

  Looks are deceiving: A small front entrance expands to over 2400 square foot of well-displayed womens fashions in sizes from petite to plus and casual to evening wear. It is also an official French Dressing Shop in Shop. Additional products include interesting costume jewellery, handbags, hats, belts and scarves. An in-house seamstress is available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  What looked like a large, well organized garden centre with an abundance of healthy looking trees, plants, flowers and shrubs was so much more. We saw Muskoka Chairs, bird houses and seeds, some really interesting unique collectibles, plus an assortment of hostess gifts, if you are visiting cottages of friends or relatives. Be sure to visit its Bargain Basement with 50% discounts and its Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream Parlour.
Hamilton Creek
          
  For a real small town shopping experience, be sure to visit this interesting shop. It has a large and excellent collection of womens and mens wear. Labels included Columbia, Tribal, Jeanne Pierre, Royal Robbins and Splendor. Prices are reasonable and service is excellent and friendly.
Henriettas Pine Bakery
          
  If you are visiting the area and need a hostess gift or are just in the mood for a decadent, personal indulgence, Henriettas has been a favourite bakery of cottagers in the Muskoka/Haliburton area for almost five decades. Its biggest seller is still awesome sticky buns with its Muskoka Cloud a close second. You will salivate over a variety of home made breads, outrageous pastries and old fashioned meat pies, plus Grandmas Summer Kitchen jams and jellies.
Langford Canoe and Kayak
          
  If you are travelling on Highway 60, south of Algonquin Park and have ever dreamed of owning a classic cedar canvas or a high performance carbon fiber canoe, you must visit the Dwight, Ontario head office and factory outlet of Canadas oldest canoe company. For over six decades a Langford canoe has been a prized possession of thousands of Canadian families. On display are many examples of canoes and kayaks at wholesale prices. Its factory store also has an interesting selection of accessories and gifts.

  Originally built as St. Georges Roman Catholic Church in 1885, TV personality and interior designer David MacPhee has purchased this building and restored and converted it to a showplace of unique, country design furnishings and accessories. Lower level now open. New products including bedding, i/o rugs, upholstery, lamps and art. Whether you would like a handmade metal rooster mounted on a stone base, an old fashioned leather rocking chair, or a special gift, Rafters has something of interest for everyone.

The Baby Garden
      
  This is a welcome new addition to the many fine shops in Lindsay. Interesting baby items include the popular Sophie the Giraffe teething ring and another teething ring that automatically closes when dropped. It carries cloth diapers and a large selection of maternity wear and gift items ideal for showers and gifts. It also offers private shopping appointments (and for breast feeding or bottle feeding mothers in the area), a special room with a big green chair and bottle warmer.
The Old Palmer House
          
  Fifteen minutes west of Algonquin Park along Highway 60 in the village of Dwight, we discovered this award-winning 1870s log cabin gift store and gallery. It has a wide assortment of cottage furnishings, accessories, lighting and unique gifts including pottery and select antiques, i interesting rustic furniture, textiles and lamps.
The Oxtongue Craft Cabin Gallery
          
  Almost three decades ago two artists opened a log cabin gallery in Tom Thompson country. Today, its collection of Canadian crafts is one of the finest anywhere. Pottery, glass, original woodcuts, oils, watercolours, and a distinctive collection of Muskoka Jewellery in sterling silver and fine gold make this a gift-givers paradise. It may be a few minutes off the beaten track, but its worth it.
